NEW ANGELS DROPPED ON OUR DOORSTEP:

Just this morning Father Phil was notified of a family in our parish that is in dire need for Christmas. The mother phoned him in tears not wanting to ask for help but she also wants to do what is right for her children. She has five children and wanted clothes to give to them for Christmas. If you could help us help them the seventh and eighth graders will be placing angels on the angel tree placed in the back of church today. The children’s ages and sizes are 11 month old girl wears 12 month clothes, 2 year old girl wears 24 months clothes, 3 ½ year old girl wears a 4T, 11 year old girl wears size 12 in pants and 10/12 shirts, and the 12 year old boy wears size 14 pants and youth large in other clothing. If there is anyway you could help it would be really appreciated and the gifts need to be brought back in next week. If you do not have the time to shop you can send in a monetary donation and the seventh and eighth graders along with Mrs. Suthoff will do the shopping for you.

PLEASE HELP:
For the months of Jan. and Feb. we need kitchen help on Mondays. If you can help let the office know.

Christmas Program---will be Tuesday December 15 at 7:00 in the church. The dress for this program will be what I refer to as Sunday best. Nice dress clothes (dresses, skirts, dress shirts and ties etc...).

On Friday December 18 the students will be going to the movie theater, as this has kind of become a tradition. Pre K through second grade will be going to see the Princess and the Frog which is a G rated movie. Grades 3-8 will be offered the choice of seeing either The Princess and the Frog or Avatar. Avatar is a PG-13 movie due to intense epic battle scenes, warfare, some language and smoking. Due to the rating all students that will see this movie will have to have a signed permission slip from the parents which will be sent home next week. You can check out trailers and comments about Avatar online so you can make the decision about which movie your child should see. The opening date for the movie is December 18, the day we are going to see it so we will not be able to preview it before. If you have any reservations about Avatar please have your child see The Princess and the Frog. Avatar is two hours and thirty six minutes long so the students going to see this movie will leave school at 9:00am so they can get items from the snack bar if they want and then be seated in time for the movie to begin at 9:30. Those seeing The Princess and the Frog will leave at 10:00am so they can get items from the snack bar if they want and be ready to start the movie at 10:30. Both movies will release around 12:00 which will give us time to get back to school, pack up and dismiss for the Christmas Break at 12:30. PTO is going to pick up the entire price of admission for the students. If your child is going to want something from the snack bar they will have to bring their own money to purchase these items. We will need drivers for this event and your child’s teacher will be setting up the transportation so please volunteer to help if you can. If you drive and want to stay for the movie your admission price is $5.50 for the Princess and the Frog or $6.50 for Avatar because it is 3D. Parents and siblings are invited to come along but it will cost admission for each of them and we will need a list of who is going to be there and the money paid to us by the day before the movie so we can get it lined out and make one payment.

Today, December 10 the Holy Rosary Saints will play their first basketball game at El Dorado. The girls will play at 5 and the boy’s will play at 6. If you have time please come out and help support the team as we begin what hopefully will be an exciting season.
